AM sleepiness,
PM wakefulness,
My clock is up-side-down
From working this way,
Nevertheless, I walk on,
Not sure how,
Isn’t it amazing?
How we all do that,
Whether fatigue or pain
Or driving emotional rain,
People do
What they have to,
Each day a new challenge
Or sometimes a welcome lull,
Why just this morning
I was savouring the quiet,
Drinking in the peace
Of a sitting break
From my busy day;
I still remember it,
Then back to work,
Applying effort,
Slowly moving
My aching carcass,
Computing persistently
And performing my workout,
Cooking supper
And suiting up to go out;
Walking through slush and snow,
Trudging along
But feeling whole,
Stepping heavily yet feeling light.
